What catches first is usually what nobody looks at.
Needle pack sitting in a gutter. Leaf litter in a roof valley. Dead juniper and bark mulch pushed up against a wall. It is the least visible part of a property and the first part to take an ember.
Mark clears it, bags it and takes it away, so it leaves the property rather than sitting in a pile by the kerb. Late spring is the time to book, because by July the whole county has arrived at the same conclusion at once.

Questions
The things Mark gets asked most.
What is this going to cost me?
It comes down to the size of the house, how many storeys, and how long it has been since the last time. That is exactly why the estimate is free and why Mark would rather come and look than guess over the phone. You get a written number before anything starts, and it does not move unless you ask for something extra.
Are you insured?
Yes. Mark carries liability insurance and will send you the certificate before he starts. Ask for it, it is not a strange request.
Could a pressure washer damage my siding or my paint?
It can, in the wrong hands and at the wrong setting. That is the whole reason Mark looks at the surface before he begins. Older redwood, stucco and painted trim get soft washed at low pressure, with the cleaning solution doing the work instead of the force. Concrete and stone take considerably more. If something is too far gone to wash safely, he will say so rather than take the job.
Do I need to be home?
No. Plenty of people leave a gate unlocked and come home to it finished. Mark texts you when he arrives and again when he is done, with photographs if you want them. If you would rather be there, that is fine too.
How long does a job take?
Gutters and a roof clear on a single storey house is usually a morning. A full exterior with windows, driveway and siding is normally a day, sometimes two on a larger property. Mark will tell you which when he quotes it.
How soon can you come out?
Estimates are usually within a couple of days, and the work within a week or two after that. Spring and the run up to fire season are the busy stretch, so if you are thinking about a summer clearing it is worth calling early.
Can you come back every year without me having to remember?
Yes, and most people end up doing exactly that. Gutters twice a year, once after the leaves come down and once before the rain. Fire clearing in late spring. Mark keeps the list and calls a couple of weeks beforehand to check the timing still suits you. There is nothing to sign and no charge for being on it.
What happens to all the debris?
It leaves with Mark. Green waste, needle pack, gutter muck and cut brush go on the truck and off the property the same day. Nothing is piled by your kerb for you to deal with.
How do I pay?
After the work is finished and you have looked at it, not before. Card, cheque or transfer, whichever is easier for you.
